We had two games last week.
The first game was Monday night and I wasn’t there. I heard we took a major spanking. I think the slaughter rule kicked in during the 2nd inning.
The second game was last Thursday. The other team was “Nannigans” – kind of an asinine name, if you ask me. Everyone on the other team had the #5 on their shirts. You could make lewd comments about player #5 and no one would know who you were talking about.
Enough about them, let’s talk about us.
The game kicked off with former strike out king, Scott Savitt, hitting a home run. He had a really good night.
Jonah and Alyssa also had great moments last night. Kris Aubuchon remembered that he can’t lead in softball.
On paper, having Patrick and Tom alternate at first base should not work, but neither of them screwed up!
With our resident softball psychopath on the DL (disabled list, not “on the down low”), Chuck must have channeled his spirit into Lindsey Southwick. Lindsey played a flawless game at shortstop – enough to get him the honor of MVP of the game! Nothing passed by that kid!
A few other things I noticed from my view on the bench…
Port-a-pots should be emptied once a week. The smell can sting your eyes. Nannigans sounds like an annoying restaurant chain in which the waitrons wear stripped shirts with lots of pins. If you yell out that #5 has a nice ass, no one will know whom you are talking about. Bud Light still tastes good warm.
I think our ump is related to Freddy Krueger.
Did I forget to mention that we beat Nannigans?
That’s it from my view from the bench.
